Loch Ness, character designer and illustrator joins the website

Self taught Illustrator, Loch Ness has been drawing characters since he was a child. His clients have included the Oxford daily Newspaper and Bristol County Council and he's had full page exposure in Imagine FX magazine.

He has been involved in two ongoing animation projects, collaborating with C.H.A.S.E. Imagination Studios in London to create environmental and character concepts and a collaboration with a comedian called Barnaby Slater on another, called ‘The Clinic’.

His work is regularly exhibited, in December 2009 he was part of a Group Exhibition at the Weapon of Choice Gallery, Bristol and has an upcoming exhibition at the Tobacco Factory, Bristol in August 2010.

Loch Ness is inspired by photography, animation, urban art and graphic design and artists such as Jamie Hewlett, Pete Fowler, Jon Burgerman, James Jarvis & Jeremyville. Whilst studying Art & Design at College artists such as Picasso and Henry Moore were his main influences.

Keep an eye out for his character designs for toy manufacture called ‘Chitkli Toys’ soon to be released.

We braved the wintry elements and made it up to Denbigh in North Wales last weekend to shoot some beautiful scenery for our hotel & restaurant client, The Guildhall Tavern. Our photographer Matt got up extra early to get some stunning shots. A large scale panoramic will feature in the main reception area and images will also feature in the bedrooms and bar and restaurant areas.

New graphic designer and illustrator joins Mosquito Inc! His stunning portfolio is inspired by all things Japanese, comic, and pop cultured!

3 years ago, Marc stumbled upon a band who were looking for some CD artwork. A lot of fun and a well-received CD package later, he kicked off his successful design career going on to create great work for a collection of great clients.

Inspired by everything around him, the typical themes that crop up in his work include Japanese influences, traditional tattoo flash, comics, pop culture, modern design, American gig posters, manga / anime, cinema and other illustrators such as Mike Giant, Chris Ware, This Is The New Year and Tokidoki, to name a few.

His favorite project to date is a recent series of women’s shoe illustrations for Iron Fist Clothing. He injected some cutesy meets horror themes into the project creating two shoes based on characters developed by himself. Two very energetic, manga inspired, horrific but cute designs later and he’s working with the brand again for a 2011 collection!

Mosquito Inc have expanded their photography section by taking on 3 International Award Winning Fashion Photographers from New Delhi, New York and Barcelona.

New Delhi based photographer, Saurabh's portfolio boasts a stunningly vibrant and atmospheric collection of Fashion Photography. He has successfully won the PX3 Prix De La Photographie, Paris and has recently completed a spread for Cosmopolitan's Anniversary Issue.

New York based Rebecca's portfolio is so fresh and clean yet quirky and obscure. Rebecca was awarded 1st place by IPA in the Advertising Beauty category for her entry "Black Feathers” and Best of Photo Annual 2006 and Best of College Photography 2006 by Photographers Forum. Her Clients have included Thomas Paul Designs, SBNYAccessories and Cargo Hold Jewelry. Her Retouching Work has been published in Macys.com, Hamptons Magazine, Lula Magazine, Aspen Peak Magazine, Vanidades Magazine and Oggi Magazine.

Barcelona based Roberto's portfolio is edgy and original, featuring quirky portraits, amazing skate photography, cool fashion and documentary based images. His has shot for Volcom, Vans, es Footwear, Carhartt, Red Bull, Circa and Jart Skateboards.

Fusion! Launch Night

We launched Fusion! The new Cultural networking event in Wrexham on Tuesday night, must admit I'm still recovering from an AMAZING night! We were overwhelmed by the turnout and have had so much positive feedback from everyone it's set to be a good jam for the next few months ahead!

The night began with local professionals from all backgrounds filtering in from freelance illustrators and designers to local government bodies and the education sector. The atmosphere was brilliant, everyone commented on what a great and fresh idea it was to have a night like this in Wrexham! Mike the DJ played some chill out background music, Central Station laid on some gorgeous food and great wine and everyone relaxed and networked...

Following Dave's welcome speech, we opened up the shutters through to the back room to reveal a very exciting exhibition showcasing illustration and graphic art by special guest artists Megan Hindley aka StedHead and David Setter aka the Compulsive Scribbler and the Mosquito Inc illustrators.

A great night was had by all and we can't wait for next months event! Keep you posted on dates and details!

Everyday we have a featured artist on our home page, today it's Joe.

Joe graduated with a Degree in Fine Art specialising in figurative sculptures based on dancers and athletes, creating them from stone carving and metal welding.

Since his studies, he has taught art to secondary school students going on to lecture fine art and life drawing. One of Joes most memorable pieces of work to date is that of the cult comedy duo The Mighty Boosh, which was one of the first illustrations he created. After receiving such positive feedback he was inspired to develop his own style.

Influenced by Tank Girl and Gorrilaz illustrator Jamie Hewlett, music videos, fashion magazines, photographer Nick Kinght, Japanese art and 60's and 70's culture, Joe is not only a unique and very talented illustrator but an experienced photographer, web and graphic designer too.

The Mosquito Inc crew are certainly keeping me on my toes this morning! I've just received this gorgeous shot from fashion photographer Steve, which I'm told is made up from 11 different elements, this was done off the back of his shoot for the Flannels store in Liverpool's Met Quarter featuring Gucci, Hugo Boss and Gieves and Hawkes. I highly recommend you take a look at his men's and women's fashion and beauty portfolio's they're truly stunning. It's a good Friday, briefed an artist on an very exciting, very creative project this morning, too early to reveal too many details but I'll be shouting about it soon. Chilling to the sounds of Nightmares on Wax: My Definition, it's got to be my favorite album at the moment, especially when the sun's shining through the window! Off to lovely Bluecoat Gallery to meet a lovely, v talented illustrator shortly, he's the next edition to the Mosquito Inc family!

I have to admit although final signed off creative is always a joy to see I absolutely love browsing through my artists sketchbooks, understanding their thought process, their scrawls and scribbles just amaze me! Check out these samples from Soph's, love them!!!

My first blog post, facebook and twitter just aren't enough! I went on a PR workshop last night and met some lovely like minded ladies who told me it's imperative to have a blog these days...so here goes! The purpose of this blog is to keep you posted on Mosquito Inc, a multi media artist agency I launched in Feb this year - representing some wicked graphic artists, web designers and photographers, I promote them and get them commissioned work, check out their portfolios at www.mosquitoinc.co.uk they're very talented and great people! We're already working on some exciting projects and have an exhibition coming up in June - keep you posted!
